Scott Whitehead’s connection to the utility industry runs deep, tracing back nearly a century to 1929, when his grandfather first entered the electrical field. This early family involvement laid the groundwork for Whitehead & Associates, founded in Atlanta in 1968.

Serving Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and the Florida panhandle, Whitehead & Associates provides Transmission and Distribution (T&D) solutions that serve the evolving needs of the electrical industry, from transformers and medium voltage switches to tubular steel structures and utility pole line hardware.

With satellite offices in Birmingham and Nashville, Whitehead & Associates has grown its influence, supporting utility, commercial, and industrial clients across the Southeast. Whitehead joined the company in 1990, viewing strong internal support as essential to continuing the legacy of service his grandfather and father established. He says company culture is very important to them. “Really, my key role is culture, making it a place where people get excited about being here, want to be here and feel like they’re making a difference,” he adds.

In line with their dedication to innovative, cost-effective solutions, Whitehead recently partnered with Champion Fiberglass, bringing high-quality fiberglass conduit to their clients across the Southeast.

The partnership is already paving the way for early success, including the launch of pilot projects with Atlanta utility companies to test cost-effective 6-inch fiberglass elbows, aiming to showcase the value of Champion Fiberglass solutions in the utility market. “Whitehead & Associates’ commitment to quality and reliability perfectly complements our mission, and we’re thrilled to work together in advancing the utility industry,” said Scott Patchan, Champion Fiberglass VP of Sales & Marketing.
