Diego Rodriguez
Diego Rodriguez was born in Missouri, but has lived in the Spring-Klein area for the past 10 years. He will be attending the University of Houston in the fall where he’ll be studying mechanical engineering.
In his internship this summer, he will be using AutoCAD and Inventor while assisting the drafting team at Champion Fiberglass. He’s hoping to save money for college, gain engineering skills, and grow his experience and efficiency in a professional environment.
Ryan Randall
Ryan Randall is a Dallas-born Houstonian. He’s a recent high school graduate who will be studying mechanical engineering at Texas A&M in the fall. He’s half of the intern team working on the robotic arm gasket machine, troubleshooting and helping improve its efficiency.
He’s excited to get hands-on work experience in the field of his major so he’ll have a head start in the popular field of mechanical engineering.
Celina Sarangaya
Celina Sarangaya is from Elgin, IL where she attends Elgin Community College and is working toward an Associate in Engineering Science degree. After she completes this degree, she will transfer to Northern Illinois University where she plans to study industrial or mechanical engineering.
For her internship, she’ll be working on the manufacturing floor with fellow intern Ryan Randall to optimize the robotic gasket machine to industry standards.
She’s excited about an immersive experience in her internship. She hopes to broaden her skills to help her become a successful engineer and she’s hoping the internship will help her decide which engineering path to follow – either industrial or mechanical.
Says Champion Fiberglass President Goran Haag, “We’re glad that Diego, Ryan and Celina have joined us this summer. I do believe that gaining experience in an internship or job early in one’s career really helps narrow the field in terms of specialty. I hope they return to college enriched with new experiences they can build on.”
