Tell us about your role at Champion FiberglassⓇ.
I joined Champion Fiberglass this summer as Human Resources (HR) Specialist. My responsibilities include recruiting, onboarding, training, policy implementation, and employee relations.
Tell us about your background.
I started as a Human Resources Assistant for a temp agency in 2010. That’s when I discovered my passion for the role it plays within a company. Then, I moved on to Human Resources Generalist with G&A Partners back in 2012, moving into another role for several years. In 2017, I started a family business in custom flooring with my husband. I took care of the back end of the business while he executed the jobs.
What attracted you to the role at Champion Fiberglass?
My mentor at G&A, Nancy, and I had briefly worked with Champion Fiberglass as a client doing investigations, so I knew it would be a great challenge in all aspects of human resources, but the people are what made it an easy “yes” for me to accept the position. From day one, the executive team here has been extremely helpful when I’ve needed anything.
How do you spend your time when not working?
I live on a 5-acre ranch where most weekends are spent tending our cats, bunnies and chickens plus mowing the grass. When we do catch a break, I love spending time cooking big dinners in the kitchen or taking the kids to the zoo, museums, or just an outing to the beach.
Tell us something people might not know about you.
My favorite color is off white/cream. I have 6 white cats. I have 6 kids, ages 24, 20, 17, 16, 14, and 12. Although some are grown and out of the house, we are still very close and love our Sunday family dinners.
What are you most excited about this year, personally and/or professionally?
Personally, I’m excited for our new home construction in Mexico. Professionally, I’m most excited to complete my senior human resources certification.
