Since its founding in 2006, Electrixwest has established itself as a trusted manufacturers’ representative serving Alberta’s electrical industry. With offices in Edmonton and Calgary, the firm covers the entire province, delivering technical expertise and tailored solutions to customers in the industrial, commercial, OEM, and utility markets.
Led by Principal Justin Pawlust, Electrixwest brings deep knowledge of applications in oil and gas, mining, food processing, and infrastructure projects. “Our philosophy is simple: be responsive, be technical, and solve problems,” says Pawlust. “We want to be a partner to our customers – not just a product pusher.”
That solution-first mindset aligns well with the values of Champion Fiberglass®, which made Electrixwest a natural fit for representation in Canada. The new partnership is already gaining traction.
“The product line is exactly what a lot of our customers are looking for – lightweight conduit with long-term performance that’s easier to handle and install,” says Pawlust. “The Champion Fiberglass team has been very responsive and supportive from day one, which makes it easier for us to stand behind and promote the product.”
Though still in the early stages, Electrixwest is already pursuing several opportunities for Champion Fiberglass, including a transit rail system. The project involves both underground and above-ground conduit installation, and Electrixwest has proposed Champion Flame Shield® phenolic conduit to meet low-smoke, zero-halogen specifications.
Beyond transit, Alberta’s energy sector continues to present strong opportunities for growth. “There’s a lot happening here,” Pawlust explains. “Net-zero and carbon capture projects are driving a new wave of industrial development across the province. The region’s infrastructure demands materials that can perform in extreme cold down to -40 ℃ and beyond, and the Champion Fiberglass product line is well suited for these harsh conditions.”
With a growing number of projects in the pipeline and a strong relationship with the Champion Fiberglass team, Electrixwest is looking ahead. “We’re excited to keep building the brand in Alberta,” says Pawlust. “There’s a lot of opportunity here.”
