Strong representation connects manufacturers, products, and customers while finding solutions for complex utility and C&I projects, and that combination is at the heart of the new partnership between Champion Fiberglass® and the Chapman Company.

Founded by Robert Chapman in 1959, the Chapman Company has served the electrical industry for more than six decades. The company specializes in the utility transmission and distribution and commercial and industrial (C&I) markets, including hospitals, data centers, office buildings, and standby power applications.
Today, the Chapman Company is 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). President Clint Creed, who became the company’s fourth president in 2020, sees diversity across market segments as an important part of the firm’s approach.
That breadth of experience is now supporting Champion Fiberglass customers in the Mid-Atlantic region. Chapman Company represents the fiberglass conduit manufacturer in the C&I market in North Carolina and South Carolina and in the utility sector throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Delaware.
The relationship began through the manufacturers’ representative community. Another rep agency within the Champion Fiberglass network, Whitehead & Associates, recommended the Chapman Company, opening the door to conversations.
For Creed, the pairing has been positive from the start. He attributes the smooth partnership to the experience Champion Fiberglass has in working with manufacturer reps and that members of sales leadership have worked as reps. The local presence and accessibility of the Champion Fiberglass team have also helped the Chapman Company introduce fiberglass solutions to engineers and contractors accustomed to other conduit materials.
Creed credits product enthusiasm within the Champion Fiberglass team for fueling efforts within the Chapman Company. Early sales activity is generating interest. The Expandable Utility Riser™ (XUR), patent pending, has gained momentum with Duke Energy, with a trial set to begin. The Chapman Company is also fielding interest from municipalities regarding projects that would include fiberglass elbows and risers.
Solid communication, growing enthusiasm, and a clear path forward define this partnership. Together, the Chapman Company and Champion Fiberglass are dedicated to sharing the advantages of fiberglass for complex utility and C&I projects throughout the region.
