Tell us about your role at Champion Fiberglass.
As Engineering Manager, my daily roles and responsibilities include project management, maintenance, supporting production needs and special projects.
Tell us about your background.
I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree in December 2017, and upon graduation was named Engineering Manager. I have been part of Champion Fiberglass since graduating high school in 2012, first as a full-time Production Assistant, then as Engineering Assistant while finishing my college degree plan.
What do you enjoy about working at Champion Fiberglass? Can you say something about the company mission, values and culture?
I enjoy being deeply involved with projects that impact production throughput. For example, I managed our recent expansion project from the ground up – selecting contractors to work with, designing equipment, budgeting, scheduling, assembling, and troubleshooting.
This project expanded my knowledge in a lot of areas, and I always enjoy learning. I also like being able to see what I’ve thought of become a reality. Most of all, I like how close-knit and family-oriented we are here, which makes work enjoyable.
How do you spend your time when not working?
I enjoy being out with friends, whether it’s hanging out at home, playing card games, working out, online gaming, or going to the occasional party.
Tell us something people might not know about you.
I’m a big sports fan. I mostly follow the NBA and my favorite team is the L.A. Lakers because I lived in Los Angeles when I was younger. When I moved to Houston, I started following football and became a fan of the Texans. I also enjoy playing other sports such as tennis and volleyball, and anything that keeps me active.
