Champion Fiberglass® is Committed to Health and Safety; Receives ISO 45001 Certification and New UL Designation

HOUSTON (April 28, 2022) — Champion Fiberglass has achieved ISO 45001 certification. This third certification is in addition to ISO 9001 (quality management systems) and 14001 (environmental systems management) the company has had for many years.

Per the International Standards Organization (ISO), 45001 is an occupational health and safety management system that incorporates organizational processes. More specifically, it outlines “specific requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, and gives guidance for its use, to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, and by proactively improving its OH&S performance.” Certification is a multi-step process that takes up to two years to achieve. The process typically involves familiarization with standards, documenting processes, audits and assessments with follow-up, plus employee training. The certification process was done by DNV, one of the most reputable companies for ISO certifications.
