Champion Fiberglass, Inc. is pleased to announce that that Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL), has listed their Champion Haz Duct® XW Conduit with extended support spacing that nearly triples the distance of prior standards. Champion is the first and only fiberglass conduit manufacturer to have achieved this distinction.

Champion’s lightweight fiberglass conduit already offers lower material and installation labor costs when compared to PVC-coated and galvanized rigid steel. Now, customers will save even more with fewer required supports.

The Champion Haz Duct XW line, allowed for use in Class 1, Div 2 installations per the National Electrical Code, now features extended support distances for diameters from ¾” to 6”. Support spacings for ten conduit diameters in the Champion Haz Duct line have doubled, and on some sizes, tripled. The increased space between supports puts Champion’s Haz Duct spans in a class with PVC-coated and galvanized rigid steel, but miles ahead in terms of ease of use and material cost.

The company is proud to have met the rigorous standards for reliability and excellence set forward by Underwriters Laboratories. This independent safety and science company represents the benchmark of product performance and quality. The Champion Haz Duct XW line is UL 2515-A listed as meeting the standard for supplemental requirements for extra heavy wall reinforced thermosetting resin conduit (RTRC) and fittings. The UL Listing number is_E125491.

Additional Champion Fiberglass products will be UL approved for extended support spacing in 2017.
