Champion Fiberglass® Team Spotlight: Matt Brocato

He’s an electrical industry veteran with an impressive collection of pop culture figurines. When not working as the Inside Sales Supervisor, he can be found on the softball field watching his two daughters play. Get to know Matt Brocato.

Tell us about your role at Champion Fiberglass®.

I have been with Champion Fiberglass for a year and a half. I serve as the Inside Sales Supervisor responsible for the central United States, the Carolinas, and some parts of Canada. My day to day tasks are mainly quoting, order entry, expediting, and helping our customers with any questions they may have about our products.

Tell us about your background.

I have about 10 years of experience in the electrical industry. Prior to Champion Fiberglass, I worked in sales for multiple electrical distributors in the Houston area where I focused mainly in the industrial market with small and large projects in surrounding chemical plants and industrial facilities.

Please comment on the electrical conduit market and the role of Champion Fiberglass in it.

Champion Fiberglass provides a unique product that can help contractors and end users solve many problems that they would not be able to accomplish with other types of conduit. We can customize any of our fittings and make customized bends in our conduit and elbows to meet uncommon and unique specifications.

Champion Fiberglass has taken an even bigger leap in the industry as of late with the prices of steel and PVC rising to record highs. We are being recognized as an excellent alternative for all types of conduit projects and heavily considered as a replacement for traditional type conduit materials due to saving our customers time and money. Many of these customers are now looking at Champion Fiberglass conduit as their preferred choice of conduit going forward.

What do you enjoy about working at Champion Fiberglass? Can you say something about the company mission, values and culture?

Champion Fiberglass is a fantastic place to work. We have a great team that works very well together. Our company continues to have tremendous growth in the electrical conduit market and it is extremely exciting to be a part of.

How do you spend your time when not working?

I have two daughters who play competitive select softball. So it is fair to say when I am not at work, I am at the ball fields practicing and enjoying watching my daughters play the game they love.

Tell us something people might not know about you.

I like to collect all types of pop culture figurines. I have thousands of different figures ranging from cartoon and movie characters to super heroes and sports players.

What are you most excited about for 2022, personally and/or professionally?

I look forward to traveling with my wife and kids. With my daughters playing softball, we get to travel all around Texas to play but I am really looking forward to some family vacations to places we have yet to visit.
