Successful projects are built on strong partnerships with knowledgeable sales reps who take the time to recognize the ongoing challenges contractors and engineers face. Manufacturer Rep Dave Dixon of AGI Sales deeply understands customers’ needs in large-scale industrial projects.

Dave shares how his background shaped his perspective, the value of fiberglass conduit, and what he likes most about representing Champion Fiberglass®.

Tell us about your background and how you got into sales.

My background is in the electrical industry. I began as a technician and spent several years on the technical side before moving into sales in 1998. That experience has helped me throughout my career. When I’m discussing electrical and conduit solutions, I can tie those conversations back to real-world projects and installation requirements.

How do you position Champion Fiberglass products as a solution for customers?

I position Champion Fiberglass as a value-added solution. Customers are getting the safety benefits that come with a lightweight fiberglass product, but they’re also getting the strength of galvanized steel. Customers appreciate that fiberglass conduit offers the durability they expect, while being easier to handle and install. I also highlight the low coefficient of friction, which creates an easier cable pull, making installation more efficient for contractors in the field.

Can you share a project or sale you’re especially proud of, including any challenges you’ve overcome?

One that stands out is Walmart Deep Freeze in Belvedere, IL. We worked closely with Morse Group to specify Champion Fiberglass elbows for the project. It turned out to be a very successful sale and established a solid long-term relationship with Morse Group. They’ve been using Champion Fiberglass ever since. I mainly work on larger industrial applications, and I’ve seen Champion Fiberglass repeatedly help customers meet demanding schedules. There have been many cases where customers required electrical conduit on a tight timeline, and the Champion Fiberglass team stepped up to make it happen.

What do you enjoy most about representing Champion Fiberglass?

For me, it’s the people, the products, and the integrity of the company.

Champion Fiberglass backs up its solutions and is honest about lead times. That matters to customers. Whether I’m talking to a distributor, contractor, or engineer, everyone can see the value fiberglass electrical conduit brings to a project. The Champion Fiberglass team includes professionals who genuinely care about helping customers succeed. It’s why I consider them to be one of the best companies I’ve worked with throughout my career.
