Ron Talisay

Tell us about your role at Champion Fiberglass.

My roles at Champion Fiberglass are Production Assistant and Research and Development (R&D) Assistant.

As Production Assistant, my scope of work is to assist the plant manager in calibrating and monitoring the instruments needed for production. While in R&D, I help the Process and Development Engineer develop new products for Champion Fiberglass.

Tell us about your background. 

I am a Filipino H1B visa holder. I graduated from the University of the East (UE Philippines) with a BS in Electronics Engineering (BSECE). Previously, I worked as a Telecom Site Engineer for 12 years. Although my educational background differs slightly from my current work, I adapted to my roles with the help of my mentor and colleagues.

What attracted you to the role at Champion Fiberglass?

My current role presents an excellent opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. I am excited about the potential to work on challenging projects within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

How do you spend your time when not working?

In my free time, I enjoy a variety of activities that help me stay balanced and fulfilled. Biking and playing basketball during the weekend allows me to stay active and appreciate the outdoors.

Tell us something people might not know about you.

One thing people might not know about me is that I am a coffee lover.

What are you most excited about for 2024, personally or professionally?

In 2024, I’m most excited about several personal and professional goals. Professionally, I’m looking forward to taking on new challenges and projects that will allow me to expand my skill set and contribute more significantly to my team. On a personal level, I’m excited about going home for a short vacation to visit family.
